CLAIM Protocol Whitepaper
Version 1.0 - May 2026
Overview
CLAIM is a protocol that maps real-world US legal claims - structured settlements, mineral royalties, court judgments, and water rights - into transferable Claim-NFTs. Each purchase of $CLAIM triggers an automatic on-chain mint: a unique NFT representing rights to future cash flows from one of four claim classes.
$CLAIM Token
$CLAIM is the entry asset of the ecosystem. Transfers are subject to protocol tax mechanics that continuously fund acquisition of offline claims, protocol treasury, NFT payout reserves, token buyback, and marketplace liquidity.
Tax Mechanics (3% / 3%)
Every buy and sell of $CLAIM incurs a 3% tax on the transaction amount. Collected ETH is allocated across: real claim acquisition, protocol treasury, NFT payout reserve, $CLAIM buyback, and DEX/marketplace liquidity.
- Real claim portfolio growth
- Protocol treasury & reserves
- NFT holder payout pool
- Buyback & liquidity support
Claim-NFT
At mint, verifiable on-chain randomness assigns immutable traits: claim class, yield (basis points), risk tier, term (months), recovery probability, and rarity. No two NFTs share the same full parameter set. NFTs are ERC-721 transferable; new owners inherit all income rights from transfer forward.
Claim Classes
SETTLE
Structured settlements - lowest risk, predictable cash flows.
MINERAL
Oil, gas, and mineral royalties - commodity-linked variable income.
JUDGED
Unpaid court judgments - high risk, asymmetric upside.
WATER
Western US water rights - long-term scarcity exposure.
Rarity & Scarcity
The mint roll intentionally produces a wide distribution: common low-yield claims, rare premium claims, and junk/zero-yield collectibles.
| Tier | Typical weight |
|---|---|
| Common | ~45% |
| Uncommon | ~25% |
| Rare | ~15% |
| Epic | ~8% |
| Legendary | ~2% |
| Junk | ~5% |
Payouts
When a holder calls claimPayout, the protocol transfers ETH from the NFT reserve according to the NFT's yield profile.
